TouchPoint Sponsored Southern Oregon Turkey Trot a Huge Success!

And the numbers are in!  This year's Southern Oregon Turkey Trot, of which TouchPoint Networks is a major sponsor, had a record turnout!   There were over 1,000 runners, volunteers, and spectators, including our very own Chuck Whiteley.  Chuck who you will typically find out and about talking business telecom, also doubled as this year’s Turkey Trot Race Director and he did a fantastic job!

Not only did we have a record turnout, but more importantly this year set a new record on food donated to Access Food Share.  The Southern Oregon Turkey Trot collected 741 pounds of food!  The numbers aren't finalized yet but it looks like we will be able to deliver a check to Access for around $12,000.00. For every dollar raised, Access is able to provide 5 meals. That means that this will be able to help provide 60,000 meals!

The weather isn’t always reliable on Thanksgiving but this year it cooperated.  Most of the night it poured before the event but when race time came, there was not a drop in the sky. The temperature was a balmy 40 degrees. The Turkey Trot has turned into a great family event. For many families the Turkey Trot is now a yearly tradition.  Thanks for all who participated!
